Who We Are

We are the Friends of the Mahicantuck — a broad community coalition dedicated to the protection and preservation of Troy’s last untouched waterfront forest and indigenous cultural site with national significance. Our goal is to oversee the long-term preservation and protection of the land at 1011 2nd Avenue, which is currently threatened by a major development project.

We work with a broad group of local, regional and state wide organizations, partners, indigenous groups, community advocacy groups and experts.
